Your Questions . . . Answered!
How does energy storage improve my solar PV?
While Solar PV does a great job of reducing energy consumption during part of the day, the largest portion of the monthly energy bill is typically the demand charge. This is based on the highest 15 minute power usage of every month during peak hours, which is as likely to occur when solar PV is not available as when the sun is shining. An energy storage system + controls software will discharge your batteries during that time and substantially lower your demand charge.

How hard is it to install a Tumalow SmartTile and Sensor Array?
Some sites need several SmartTile and Sensor Array systems if, for example, you need to monitor electrical usage in more than one room or building. But the SmartTile is a plug and play device so as soon as you have the senors attached to the loads you want to monitor it take less than 10 minutes to get the SmartTile up and running.

How long is a typical demonstration period?
Most building operators can aggregate the information they need in 30-60 days in order to make a decision on which type of  energy storage system will work best for them.

Which storage solution works best for a particular site/customer?

During the demonstration period, Tumalow will build the load profile of any commercial property and then integrate the load profile into one or more application usages
and all incentives that may apply (net metering, solar ITC, etc.) to determine the optimal storage solution.

What type of battery chemistry do you work with?
Just about any of them. Tumalow reviews each property’s load profile, electricity tariff (from utility or supplier), and potential utility or ISO markets and then factors in the system lifetime costs (upfront capital costs + replacement and recycling costs) and other relevent information to recommend the most appropriate battery chemistry for the property.

 What does "Tumalow" mean anyway?
